Lovely to Meet You.

1985

Went from hairdressing school to head stylist in a few quick years. I moved with a boyfriend to Vancouver where I traded him in for specialized hairdressing training. It's the 80's and Billy Idol & red leather ties are all the rage.

1987

Styling locks next door to to a casting agency, it was only a matter of time before I started taking jobs as an extra on TV show... and yes, I was on Macgyver.

1990

Got married, then left my husband and got my first job in show business. Hairstylist to the Dolls. Who knew there was an actual job where you can style doll hair for toy commercials? Barbie never looked so good.

1991

Attended Blanche MacDonald Institute for Make Up for Film & TV. Looking for work, I ended up as a wardrobe stylist. Didn't see that coming!

1998

Met 2nd husband, had a baby, and bought my first home in Nelson, BC. Full on nesting phase, we do a full renovation.

2001

Eventually we sell the home & move to a seaside cottage in Deep Cove, North Vancouver. More nesting. More reno. Embark on Feng Shui journey and the home is featured in Canadian National Publication. Baby number two joins the gang.

2005

Sold the magazine-worthy home and move to Malaysia so my husband could pursue his career in hospitality. I become professional expat and take up every hobby under the sun. No work, all play but hotel life is not a life to raise kids in.

2006

I pull the plug on living in Malaysia and packed up the girls to move back to Nelson. I'm craving normal life where the kids club in the lobby and room service aren't part of the daily routine. I buy a house in Nelson, planning a quick flip. Husband returns from Malaysia, and we're suddenly in full reno again.

2008

Husband leaves me with unfinished home, so I learn to be my own contractor. Eventually traveling to LA to upgrade my hairdressing skills at Tony & Guy. I turn the carport into the Style Garage. I now have a full service salon in my basement!

2009

I'm not in love with hairdressing as it turns out. I connect with local shop owners and decide to work with them. I become the store merchandiser, buyer, and travel attending shows. Eventually I take over managing. I fall in LOVE with interior style.

2012

My desire to know more about creating spaces with intention and flow takes me to Encinitas, CA to study at the Western School of Feng Shui with Author Terah Kathryn Collins. My desire to be an expert in colour takes me to Vancouver to study as a True Colour Expert with Maria Killam. I study blogging with Holly Becker of Decor8.

2013

I create my first blog. Build my first website. I fully commit to a journey of self development and attend Peak Potentials Millionaire Mind Intensive and sign up for a Quantum Leap. A year into my new styling position ends, suddenly and shockingly.

2015

I create my own mastermind group. I become certified as a Dream Coach with Marcia Wieder and create my own coaching program, which includes personal environment. I come to realize in all of my trainings and workshops, no one discusses the power of home spaces in the transformation process. But I do.

2016

I created my own shop, The Pink Door in the Lane Vintage shop & Artist Collective. Youngest graduates 2 years later and I can travel back to Vancouver freely to find work in the film industry. Instead of wardrobe, I enter set decorating and prop styling.

2021

I discover Human Design. I'm obssessed and learn to give readings to others. Everything becomes full circle. My love for creating, decorating, style, life, and human experience. I fully connect how our interior and exterior are fully intertwined. And now I'm here to share it with you.

The secret to having it all is believing you already do.

OUR VALUES

  • Treasure is always around us, waiting to be discovered, often hidden. We are committed to seeking, searching and striving - It is often where we least expect it, and can be found in the smallest of things. We embrace being mindful and practicing gratitude for all of life's little treasures.

  • We are all connected, we can not exist without the balance of masculine and feminine, they live within each other. We understand our external world is a reflection of our innermost selves which require balance in order to create peace. We carve out space to nurture and inspire us, raising the consciousness of the individual along with the collective.

  • We trust that everything is happening for our highest good, this wards off our fears and doubts and allows the manifestation process to come to fruition. We trust our gut and are led by our intuition.

  • Willpower is influenced and often superseded by environment. We mindfully ensure that the energetic spaces we allow ourselves to be in will positively impact our experiences. Environments go beyond our physical spaces, but into our mindsets, human connections, and consumption. The eyes, the ears, and the mouth are the gatekeepers to our soul.

  • We allow ourselves to let our imaginations run freely. We have the power to create. We can have whatever we desire. We remove preconceived notions, and limitations placed on us by ourselves and society. We step into our power, and practice gratitude along the way.

  • We do what we can, where we can, with what we have for the greater good. We are contributors, and open vessels. We use our resources wisely, and often start with slow and consistent action, committed to becoming incrementally better all the time.
